The film Downton Abbey 2 – Une Nouvelle ère en Streaming; Alors que la famille Crawley s’apprête à célébrer deux mariages à Downton Abbey, dont celui de Tom Branson et sa fiancée Lucy, la maisonnée se retrouve chamboulée quand un réalisateur hollywoodien débarque sans prévenir pour transformer la demeure en plateau de cinéma.
Parallèlement ils apprennent que Lady Violet vient d’hériter d’une villa située dans le sud de la France. La comtesse douairière enjoint alors les membres de sa famille à se rendre sur la Côte d’Azur en quête de son mystérieux passé…
1928. The Crawleys and their servants all attend the wedding of Tom Branson and Lucy Smith, daughter of Lady Bagshaw. Lord Grantham explains to his relatives that the family solicitor will soon be visiting Downton, at the Dowager's request, and that he expects everyone to be there.
Indeed, Violet has inherited a villa in the south of France, which she, in turn, wishes to bequeath to Lady Sybil and Branson's daughter. But this decision makes Branson uncomfortable.
Without understanding why the late Marquis de Montmirail was so generous to his mother, Lord Grantham receives an intriguing phone call: a certain Mr. Barber, a film director, wants to shoot his new silent film, The Gambler, at Downton Abbey.
While Robert finds the idea ludicrous, Lady Mary, for her part, considers it difficult to refuse the production's offer given the renovation work awaiting the family.
